FABRIZIO BOSSO & ROSARIO GIULIANI QUARTET – CONNECTIONS
Fabrizio Bosso, trumpet – Rosario Giuliani, saxophones – Alberto Gurrisi, Hammond organ – Marco Valeri, drums
(in collaboration with Saint Louis Management)
Two outstanding Italian musicians, trumpeter Fabrizio Bosso and saxophonist Rosario Giuliani, lead the quartet’s bandmates Alberto Gurrisi (organ) and Marco Valeri (drums) in an enthralling repertoire which combines jazz standards with original compositions, enhanced by strong rhythmic features.
Fabrizio Bosso is not only internationally renowned for his superfine technique but also for the intense emotion and feeling that pervade his solos, sometimes virtuosic, at other times lyrical and poignant, but always precise and inspired. From his busy and varied concert schedule with various bands he draws new ideas and sounds for his exquisite and intense improvisations.
Rosario Giuliani immediately enthralls his audience with the fluid yet dynamic phrasing he effortlessly draws from his saxophones, affiliating him quite naturally to great saxophonists like Julian “Cannonball” Adderley, Art Pepper, John Coltrane. Much in demand on the international jazz scene he regularly collaborates with prestigious artists such as Charlie Haden, Gonzalo Rubalcaba, Martial Solal, Mark Turner, Kenny Wheeler, Bob Mintzer, Joe Locke, Joe La Barbera, John Patitucci, Marc Johnson, Joey Baron, Richard Galliano, Kurt Elling…
“Connections” is a sentimental journey which springs from a twenty-year-old personal and musical affinity between Bosso and Giuliani, masterfully supported by Gurrisi and Valeri, two other stars of the Italian jazz panorama.
